Storm Warning by Elizabeth Goddard left me utterly drenched in suspense and awe. This book unleashed a storm of emotions and faith, and I couldn't look away. The tension was palpable, and the danger relentless, but it was the underlying thread of God's presence that truly held my attention and my heart.

Remi Grant is a woman battling the tides of her own memory, haunted by a past she can't fully grasp. As the storms roar around her, she tries to hold on, but it's clear the storm within is just as fierce. I loved how Remi's journey was about finding peace, remembering who she truly was, and trusting that God would never leave her, no matter how isolated she felt as she recited from memory Psalm 93:3-4: “The waves roar, O Lord, the waves roar, the waves roar and crash. Above the sound of the surging water, and the mighty waves of the sea, the Lord sits enthroned in majesty.” Remi’s faith became the anchor in the chaos of her storm.

Hawk Beckett, the strong yet silent former military pilot, carries the heavy burden of past failures. What truly resonated with me was how, in his darkest moments, Hawk found himself crying out to God—something he hadn’t done in far too long. “Maybe that’s what despair did. It brought a man to his knees before God.” There’s a raw power in witnessing a man, broken by his past, still turning to the Lord. It’s a moment that shapes his character and touches the heart of the reader, reminding us of the transformative power of genuine faith in our own lives.

What I truly admired was the way the characters prayed. It wasn't forced or artificial. They prayed like they breathed, with an openness that felt natural, powerful, and real. They didn’t just seek God when things got tough—they constantly recognized His presence and His answers. Remi’s faith was quiet but fierce, while Hawk’s was humbling, and together they formed a partnership not just of survival, but of trust in God's protection, guidance, and provision.

The remote setting of the Washington coast was almost a character in itself—dangerous, isolating, and wild—just like the turmoil the characters were facing. It was impossible to ignore the crashing waves of both the literal and figurative kind. With every page, I was pulled deeper into this mystery, feeling the weight of the storm as it raged around these characters. And yet, no matter how heavy the winds blew, the underlying theme was one of God’s unshakable presence. God is still on His throne, no matter the storm.

This book is a thrilling ride, yes, with twists, danger, and unexpected surprises, and it is a profound reflection of how faith can carry us through the wildest of storms—both external and internal. Storm Warning didn’t just keep me turning pages—it kept me praying along with the characters, reminding me that no matter how high the waves rise, God is above them all.

If you’re looking for a story that blends pulse-pounding suspense with unwavering Christian faith, then Storm Warning is your book. It will keep you on your toes, but more than that, it will leave you with the reminder that, even when everything feels out of control, God is always right where He needs to be—enthroned in majesty.
